Clay Turtle Rattles Second Graders created rattles to go along with their Native American Indian unit. Some Native American Indian tribes used turtle shells, stones and shells for their rattles. Students formed a pinchpot for the turtle shell. Clay beads were added to the inside of the shell before their piece was fired in a kiln.
